A few weeks ago, I shared that I was investing in my business by taking the LadyBossBlogger Blogging course. But I wanted to talk a little more about that course and give an honest review now that I have finished it.
One of the most important things I learned from Elaine Rau (the founder of LadyBossBlogger.com) is affiliate marketing and how to make a passive income.
COURSE OVERVIEW
I figured I would break it down for you again. There are seven main sections: Introduction, Branding, Content, Pitching, Brands, Money and Legal. These sections go through everything from the latest Instagram engagement hacks to Costly mistakes everyone makes with their bio, sponsored post etiquette and understanding the FTC's guidelines and how to abide by them. The last section is a bonus section with even more beneficial tools such as Email Marketing 101, How to start a basic + profitable blog, how to create an online store and so much more!! Here are some topics that stood out to me.
Finding your niche – This is so important so that you can connect with other people in your niche and determine your target audience!
Claiming your blog domain name – When I started out, I started with Wix's free version. I soon realized in order to be able to monetize my blog and work with retailers such as Amazon, that I needed my own domain. I waited for them to offer one of their half off sales and purchased my own domain and email.
Email Marketing – This section has all the tips on creating your email marketing strategy. If you are like me and want to "own" your customers , then you need to have an email list. What if your Instagram account was deleted or closed? What would you do? If you have an email list, you still have access to your followers and don't have to start over from scratch. I found this section to be the most important topic for me to focus on first. If you want to have a newsletter, this is a must read section!
Affiliate Marketing – Honestly, this confuses me a lot. I will be reading through this section a few more times. However, it walks you through how to make a passive income with affiliate marketing and the tools you need to get started.
How to Keep Track of Your Earnings – Loved this section because it helps you with everything you need to be legal and compliant with the IRS.
